Turn sideways or upside-down pages

Scanned documents and phone photos often end up sideways or upside down in a PDF. This tool turns pages by 90, 180 or 270 degrees and saves the fixed PDF, so it reads correctly on every phone and computer and prints the right way. You can turn every page or only the pages that need it.

Choose the angle

90 degrees turns pages clockwise by a quarter, 180 degrees turns them upside down, and 270 degrees turns them a quarter anticlockwise. Look at the page preview to decide: if the top of the text points to the right, choose 270; if it points to the left, choose 90; if it is upside down, choose 180.

Only some pages

Type the pages to turn, such as 2, 4-6, or leave the box as all to turn the whole document. This is useful when only a few landscape tables or certificates in a long file are sideways.

Quality stays the same

Rotation only changes how the page is shown; the content is not re-drawn. Text stays selectable and pictures keep their full quality, and the file size hardly changes.

Related fixes

If the pages are also in the wrong order, use the organise tool after rotating. If you are making a PDF from phone photos, the JPG to PDF tool already keeps photos upright, so you usually do not need to rotate afterwards.

Common uses

Fix a PDF made from phone photos taken in landscape mode. Turn wide tables, charts and certificates so they read correctly on screen. Correct pages that a scanner fed upside down. Make a document comfortable to read on a phone before forwarding it on WhatsApp or email.

Typing pages

Type all to turn every page. For selected pages, use numbers with commas and dashes, such as 1,3-5. Page numbers count from the first page of the file. If a page is turned the wrong way, simply run the tool again on the new file with the angle that fixes it; nothing is lost by rotating more than once.

Printing after rotation

Most printers follow the page direction automatically. If a rotated landscape page prints small, choose "fit to page" or landscape in the print settings.

Rotate before other steps

If you also plan to add page numbers, a watermark or a signature, rotate the pages first. Items added after rotation are placed the right way up, so the final document looks neat. For a file with mixed problems, a good order is: rotate, organise pages, then add numbers or a watermark, and compress last if a size limit applies.

Private by design

Your PDF is processed inside your own browser. It is never uploaded to a server, and nothing is kept after you close the page. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
