PDF watermark

Add purpose-specific text across every page.

Mark copies of your ID or documents with a clear purpose, so they cannot easily be reused for something else.

Mark your documents before sharing

When you send a copy of your Aadhaar, PAN, bank statement or certificates, anyone who receives it could misuse it. A watermark such as "Only for KYC with XYZ Bank" or "For job application only" printed across every page makes it clear what the copy is for and makes misuse much harder. This tool adds such text to every page of a PDF.

Write a clear purpose

Good watermark text says who the copy is for, why, and when, for example "Only for home loan at ABC Bank, 17-10-2026". A specific purpose is more useful than a general word like "Copy", because a misused copy then clearly shows it was given for something else.

Repeated or single

Repeat across the page tiles the text diagonally over the whole page, which is hardest to remove and best for ID documents. Turn repeat off to place one large watermark in the centre. Adjust the font size and opacity so the document underneath stays readable.

How it is added

The watermark is placed on top of every page. Text and pictures underneath are not changed. Keep your original file safe and share only the watermarked copy.

Combine with other protection

For stronger privacy, first hide the first eight digits of your Aadhaar with the hide part of PDF tool, then add a watermark, and finally lock the PDF with a password if it is sent by email.

Common uses

Mark ID copies given to a bank, telecom company, landlord or employer. Add "Draft" or "Confidential" to documents that are not final. Add your shop or brand name to price lists and catalogues before sharing them. Teachers add "Sample" to question papers shared online.

Finding the right settings

An opacity of about 20 to 35 percent usually keeps the document readable while the watermark stays clearly visible. For the repeated pattern, a medium font size gives several lines across the page. For a single central mark, use a larger size. Preview the result and run it again with new settings if needed; your original file is not changed.

Any language

The watermark text is drawn as a picture of the letters and then placed on each page, so Hindi, Marathi, Tamil and other Indian languages work as well as English. You can write the purpose in the language the receiver reads, for example "केवल बैंक KYC के लिए". Dates and numbers also appear exactly as you type them.

Private by design

Your PDF is processed inside your own browser. It is never uploaded to a server, and nothing is kept after you close the page. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
