PDF Studio
Change existing text and pictures in a PDF, sign, draw, redact and organise pages.
Pick a word or line on the page and type the new text. The old text is removed from the PDF, not just covered. Hindi text works too.
Edit the words and pictures already in a PDF
PDF Studio is a full PDF editor in your browser. Unlike tools that only add things on top, it can change the text that is already in the PDF: fix a spelling mistake, update a date, a price or a name, or replace a whole line. It can also replace a picture inside the PDF, such as an old logo or photo, with a new one.
More than text editing
In the same place you can sign, add text boxes, draw with a pen, highlight, add comments and links, fill forms, add a watermark, rotate, duplicate or delete pages, and redact areas so the hidden content is removed. Undo and redo let you try changes safely. The finished PDF keeps real text where it was text, so it stays searchable and small.
How editing existing text works
Choose Edit words, tap a line or word, change it in the box and press Replace. PDF Studio removes the old words and writes the new ones in the font and size of the PDF itself. PDFs usually keep only the letters they use, so if a new letter is missing from that font, the closest standard font in the same style (with or without serifs, bold or italic) is used automatically and a message tells you which one. For an exact match, upload the TTF file of the original font. For Hindi text a Devanagari font is used automatically.
What it cannot do
Scanned PDFs are pictures of paper, so their words cannot be edited like typed text; use OCR to read them or retype the part you need. Some PDFs use special protection or hidden text layers; when PDF Studio cannot replace text safely it tells you instead of producing a broken file. Locked PDFs must be unlocked with the password first.
Open source engine
PDF Studio uses MuPDF, a well-known PDF engine released under the AGPL-3.0 licence. The complete source code of PDFPixo is available from the Open Source page. The engine runs inside your browser, which is why the first load takes a few seconds.
Common uses
Correct a spelling or a wrong date in a certificate draft, a quotation or a letter you received as a PDF. Change a phone number or address on a brochure. Replace an old logo with a new one. Add a comment for a colleague, highlight important lines, or fill an interactive form.
Good to know
Replaced words may look slightly different from the original when the original font is not fully available. Long paragraphs do not flow onto the next page automatically, so keep replacements about the same length as the original text. Always check the downloaded PDF once. If you close or open another PDF before downloading, unsaved changes are lost, and the editor warns you first.
Private by design
Your PDF is processed inside your own browser. It is never uploaded to a server, and nothing is kept after you close the page. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
