Photo watermark
Add a purpose or ownership mark to a photo.
Protect photos and ID scans with a visible text mark, once or repeated across the image.
Add a watermark to a photo
This tool writes text across a photo so that people know who it belongs to or what it is for. Photographers and shops add their name to stop others reusing their pictures. People add a purpose such as "Only for SIM verification" to photos of their ID cards before sending them, so a copy cannot easily be misused for something else.
Repeated or single
Repeat across photo writes the text diagonally many times over the whole picture. This is the safest choice for ID photos, because it is very hard to crop out or paint over. Turn repeat off to put one watermark in the centre, which looks cleaner for product photos and artwork.
Size and strength
Font size sets how big the letters are, from 8 to 200. Opacity sets how strong the watermark looks: a low value is light and lets the photo show through, a high value is bold. A value around 25 to 40 percent usually keeps the photo clear while the text stays easy to read.
Writing good text
For ID photos, write who it is for, why and the date, for example "Only for KYC at XYZ Bank, 17-10-2026". For your own photos, use your name, shop name or website. Hindi and other Indian languages can also be used.
Output
Choose JPG for a small file to send on WhatsApp or email, or PNG for the best quality. Keep your original photo safe, because the watermark becomes part of the new picture and cannot be removed later.
More privacy
Before adding a watermark to an ID photo, you can hide numbers you do not need to share with the hide part of photo tool, such as the first eight digits of an Aadhaar number. For PDF copies of documents, use the PDF watermark tool.
Common uses
Shops add their name to product photos before posting them on social media. Photographers mark sample pictures sent to clients. People mark photos of Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence or voter ID before sending them for KYC, a SIM card, a rental agreement or a job. Teachers mark worksheet photos shared in groups.
One photo at a time
This tool marks one photo per run. For a document with many pages, make a PDF first and use the PDF watermark tool, which marks every page together.
Check before sharing
Open the marked photo once and zoom in to see that the important details, such as your name and photo on an ID card, are still readable, and that the watermark covers the whole picture.
