Indian passport size 35 × 45 mm and other sizes
The Indian passport size preset makes photos of 35 × 45 millimetres, the size most Indian forms and offices ask for. There is also a 2 × 2 inch preset for US visas and a 35 × 45 mm preset for Schengen visas. Each photo is cropped to the right shape from the centre of your picture, so place your face in the middle when you take the photo.
4 × 6 inch or A4 sheet
A 4 × 6 inch sheet is the standard photo print size at every photo shop, and holds several passport photos. An A4 sheet holds many more and can be printed on a normal printer. The tool shows how many photos fit on the chosen paper and arranges them neatly with even spacing and cut lines, so cutting with scissors is easy.
White background
Most passport and visa photos need a plain white or light background. Turn on the white background option and the background behind you is replaced with white by a small AI model that runs on your device. Check hair edges in the preview; a photo taken in front of a light wall always gives the cleanest result.
Tips for an accepted photo
Look straight at the camera with a neutral face, eyes open and both ears visible. Use even daylight without strong shadows, and do not wear dark glasses. Rules for passports and visas are strict and can change, so check the current requirements of the passport office or embassy before printing.
Printing at the right size
When printing, choose 100 percent or actual size and turn off "fit to page" or "fill page", otherwise the printer may enlarge or shrink the sheet and the photos will not be 35 × 45 mm any more. At a photo shop, ask for a 4 × 6 inch print of the file without cropping. Photo paper with a glossy or matte finish both work for most forms.
